The “honeymoon” year of high school for me was no honeymoon. It was a wake up call to take life seriously. I was a science stream student. Conflicted by the promise of science and the appeal of art, I took to translating my problems into ink. To this day, my trusty black pen is a comrade.

30 Days of Illustration

In December of 2011, I ended the year with another 30-day project: 30 Days of llustration. I used various media – watercolour, poster colour, sumi-e, Photoshop and pencil.

My main media was simple ink pens, hence the large number of doodles produced.

Overall it was a very interesting way to polish my drawing skills.

Ohana Fast Food & Drinks

As part of my Cyberpreneurship subject at university, my friends and I were assigned to run a small business for a few days. Our concept was a fast food stall called Ohana meaning family in Hawaiian. We sold a variety of fast food to students and university staff and managed to make some profit.

Methodist Boys’ School Sentul Golden Jubilee Commemorative Book

I was commissioned by the Old Boys’ Association to photograph the Methodist Boys’ School . These photographs were featured in commemorative book celebrating the 50 years since they graduated.

The challenge was to capture the essence of the school: all its nooks and crannies that reminded them of living as high school students in the 1960′s.

SMK Subang Utama Prefects’ Reunion

I was commissioned to design the ticket to the SMK Subang Utama Prefects’ Reunion of 2010. It was designed to be printed on CDs and given out to the attendees.

SMK Subang Utama Prom 2007

I was the creative director of the prom organising committee and had to job of designing the ticket and booklet for the event. While the theme of the event was Hollywood: Lights, Camera, Action!, my design kind of veered to a Bohemian Bollywood mood.

The Batik Experience
